Ooops, meant to mail ya back about the inverter. It works fine ! Just needed a 
little tweaking of the adjuster as per instructions.
I flattened out some 3 and 4oz. 'bank sinkers' for fishing and screwed them 
onto ground screw to replace missing weight of transformer ballast.
BTW- I used a tiny Radio Shack neon bulb to test old ballast. One side worked 
OK, the other side didn't.
A simple test for others to isolate a bad ballast/bulb. Thanks for a great fix 
for our Mark VIII problem.
